Press Release: Integrated Pump Technology Expands African Presence with Godwin Pumps for Tanzanian Gold Mine
Integrated Pump Technology has successfully supplied its inaugural two Godwin pump units to a prominent gold mining operation in north-western Tanzania, marking a significant achievement in the brand’s expansion across Africa.
“The Godwin range is gaining traction in the region, demonstrating exceptional reliability and performance in challenging operating conditions,” stated JD Nel, Godwin Product Manager at Integrated Pump Technology. Due to the site’s acidic underground water, a stainless steel configuration was recommended for the pumps’ internal components.
A crucial aspect of this project was Integrated Pump Technology’s collaboration with Pinnacle Engineering Solutions, a wholly Tanzanian-owned distributor based in Mwanza, close to the mine.
The two Godwin HL250M Dri-Prime diesel-driven pumps were chosen to transfer water to a holding dam at a rate of 550 cubic meters per hour over a 70-meter discharge head. Nel emphasized that the HL250M units can handle up to 790 cubic meters per hour, an essential capability during the rainy season when underground water influxes can surge.
Integrated Pump Technology conducted a thorough assessment of the mine’s dewatering system, ultimately recommending the Godwin HL250M pumps alongside Grindex electric submersible units for an effective long-term solution.
Key to the Godwin HL250M’s performance is its high-pressure oil bath mechanical seal system, which allows for extended dry running while self-priming, a critical feature for consistent dewatering operations.
Furthermore, Integrated Pump Technology is partnering with Pinnacle Engineering Solutions to establish a fully OEM-compliant workshop in Mwanza, ensuring adherence to global standards and offering ongoing technical training for local staff. This initiative, combined with increased stock of Godwin and Grindex pumps, will enhance support for regional customers in this vital mining hub.
