Celebration of Asian Culture: Riverfront Park Hosts Three Major Events in One Day
Spokane, Wash. – On June 21, Riverfront Park will serve as the vibrant backdrop for a unique cultural celebration featuring the Taste of Asia Festival, the Philippine American Friendship Celebration, and a Sister City Bench Dedication. Running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., this free event invites the community to immerse themselves in Asian culture and cuisine.
Organized by the Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Coalition, in partnership with the Spokane Parks Foundation and local community organizations—including the Filipino American Northwest Association, Spokane Chinese Association, and Indian Youth Club of Spokane—the festivities promise to be both enriching and entertaining. Attendees can look forward to live cultural performances, a spirited karaoke contest with prizes, and interactive cultural booths that showcase the diverse heritage of Asian communities.
Food enthusiasts will be delighted by live cooking demonstrations highlighting traditional Asian culinary techniques, along with a variety of food trucks serving delectable Asian dishes. Market vendors will also add to the festive atmosphere, providing an array of goods for guests to explore.
In a commitment to community well-being, the Community Health Association of Spokane (CHAS) will set up a mobile clinic on-site, offering free health services to attendees for the duration of the event.
