Peoria Woman Sentenced to 10 Years for Assaulting Children with Truck
PEORIA, Ariz. — Brandie Gotch, 32, has received a 10-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to three counts of aggravated assault, stemming from a shocking incident in February 2024 where she drove her pickup truck through a park filled with children. The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office confirmed that a 12-year-old girl sustained injuries when Gotch ran over her leg during a chaotic altercation triggered by a dispute involving Gotch’s children and other kids in the park.
Following the confrontation, Gotch confronted a boy who had insulted her, leading to her pulling his hair. She then chased another child with a stick before returning to her vehicle. While attempting to leave, Gotch drove her truck toward a group of children, resulting in one getting injured. Fortunately, the injuries were minor, limited to a sprained ankle and bruises.
Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell emphasized the importance of adult accountability, stating, "It is never okay to take our rage out on a kid." After fleeing the scene, Gotch was later arrested at her home. The incident raised serious safety concerns for the community, prompting a strong response from law enforcement.
