Phoenix Man Sentenced to Seven Years for Fentanyl Trafficking
PHOENIX — Baltazar Quintero-Bueno has been sentenced to seven years in prison following his conviction on multiple fentanyl drug trafficking charges. The sentencing, announced by the Arizona Attorney General’s Office on Thursday, underscores the gravity of his involvement in a significant fentanyl operation in Pima County from May to December 2024.
Quintero-Bueno pleaded guilty to several charges, including conspiracy to sell a narcotic drug and possession for sale. Prosecutors revealed that he was linked to the sale of fentanyl pills and was found in possession of 73.3 pounds of fentanyl and methamphetamine, alongside multiple firearms, on December 23, 2024.
In addition to his prison term, Quintero-Bueno was ordered to pay $4,500 to the state’s anti-racketeering fund and an equal amount in investigation costs to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Furthermore, he was required to forfeit several firearms used in his drug trafficking operations.
Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards illicit drug trafficking, vowing to pursue and bring offenders to justice.
