Stellar Defense Leads Diamondbacks to Commanding Victory Over Mariners

Diamondbacks Dominate Mariners in 10-3 Victory at Chase Field

PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks triumphed over the Seattle Mariners with a commanding 10-3 win at Chase Field on Tuesday, clinching a series victory with a powerful offensive and defensive display. The D-backs scored in five different innings, racking up ten runs on 12 hits, which alleviated the drama often associated with their recent games.

Corbin Carroll led the charge, hitting two RBI triples and marking a franchise milestone by becoming the first Diamondbacks player with two multi-triple games in a single season. His performances boosted the D-backs to an early 1-0 lead in the third and later extended their advantage to 8-2 in the sixth inning.

“This was a gritty win,” Carroll remarked, pleased with the consistent scoring pressure. Manager Torey Lovullo agreed, praising the relaxed nature of their victory, “It felt really nice not to have your heart pounding for the last few innings.”

While starting pitcher Brandon Pfaadt allowed seven hits, he displayed resilience by keeping Seattle off the scoreboard through five innings, supported by stellar defensive plays. Notable highlights included Lourdes Gurriel Jr.’s leaping catch at the wall and Ketel Marte’s critical double play, showcasing how vital defensive support can be during tense moments.

The D-backs’ offense continued to flourish with contributions from players like Gabriel Moreno, who hit a three-run homer, and Alek Thomas, who added a late solo shot. Carroll is leading Major League Baseball with eight triples, demonstrating a balance of power and speed.

The D-backs, now 33-34, prepare for the final game of the series against the Mariners, set for Wednesday at 12:40 p.m. Eduardo Rodriguez will take the mound for Arizona, while Seattle counters with Bryan Woo.
