CINCINNATI — The thrilling series finale between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Cincinnati Reds experienced an unexpected interruption due to rain on Sunday at Great American Ballpark. The game, which was tied 2-2 in the top of the sixth inning, was paused for 31 minutes before resuming at 12:30 p.m. MST.

This matchup marked the second weather-related delay in the series; Friday’s game had previously been suspended after six innings due to rain. When play resumed on Saturday, the Reds triumphed over the Diamondbacks with a nail-biting 4-3 victory in 10 innings. The Reds showcased their dominance in the second game, overpowering the D-backs with a commanding 13-1 win.

In Sunday’s contest, the Diamondbacks took an early lead, with Eugenio Suarez hitting a home run in the second inning, marking his 18th of the season. Corbin Carroll followed up in the third inning with an RBI single, putting Arizona ahead 2-0. However, the Reds rallied back in the fourth and fifth innings, responding with solo home runs to even the score.
