Local Sports Fan Sets Record with 150 Events in a Year
Phoenix, AZ — Nathan Kropp, a dedicated Arizona sports enthusiast, has achieved an extraordinary milestone by attending 150 sporting events in just one year. The 35-year-old insurance claims adjuster and lifelong Arizona sports fan, known on social media as “Mr. AZ Sports,” attended a staggering 82 Arizona Diamondbacks games, 43 Phoenix Suns games, and various matches featuring Arizona State University teams, among others.
Kropp’s journey began last summer as a way to infuse excitement into his life and break into the social media landscape. He wanted to document his experiences while adding a unique twist, including sneaking an array of foods—such as rotisserie chicken and tomahawk steaks—into stadiums traditionally restrictive about outside food. His antics quickly garnered attention, as he learned that Chase Field allows clear bags of outside food and bottled drinks.
“I just started taking food for every game I went to,” Kropp noted. His creative and humorous approach attracted a significant following across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and X (formerly Twitter), with plans to reach 100,000 followers.
Kropp’s adventures have led him to meet various sports figures and develop friendships with athletes who appreciate his engaging content. A highlight of his year was throwing the first pitch at a Diamondbacks game, a moment he calls unforgettable.
Looking forward, Kropp aims to maintain his attendance at about 125 games annually while focusing on growing his social media presence and promoting positive experiences in Arizona sports. With dreams of attending 1,000 games in total, Kropp’s journey continues to inspire local sports fans.
