Tyrese Haliburton Delivers Game-Winning Shot to Shock Thunder in Game 1

Pacers Pull Off Dramatic Comeback to Take Game 1 of NBA Finals

OKLAHOMA CITY – In a thrilling finish of Game 1 of the NBA Finals, the Indiana Pacers staged a remarkable comeback, edging out the Oklahoma City Thunder 111-110 with just 0.3 seconds remaining. Tyrese Haliburton sank the decisive basket, giving the Pacers their first lead of the game.

The game saw the Pacers trailing by as much as 15 points with 9:42 left in the fourth quarter. This comeback tied the record for the largest fourth-quarter rally in a finals game, previously achieved by the Dallas Mavericks in 2011, under the same coach, Rick Carlisle. Known for their late-game heroics this playoff season, the Pacers have consistently turned around tight situations, including previous comebacks against the Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and New York Knicks.

Leading the charge for Indiana was Pascal Siakam, who scored 19 points, while Obi Toppin added 17 and Myles Turner contributed 15. Haliburton and Andrew Nembhard each chipped in with 14 points. For the Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander displayed an impressive performance, scoring 38 points, but it wasn’t enough to maintain their advantage at home, where they had only lost once all season when leading by 15.

In a moment of desperation, Carlisle replaced all five starters in hopes of igniting a spark, which proved effective as the Pacers quickly chipped away at the deficit, outscoring the Thunder 15-4 in a critical stretch of the fourth quarter.

With this exhilarating win, Indiana sets the stage for Game 2, which will take place in Oklahoma City on Sunday night. Fans eagerly await to see if the Pacers can continue their winning streak in the finals.
