Mesa, Ariz. — In an unusual call for service, the Mesa Fire Department rescued a young coyote pup trapped in the concrete enclosure beneath an in-ground trampoline. The incident occurred on Wednesday, prompting the fire crew to spring into action.

Firefighters skillfully maneuvered the trampoline out of the ground, allowing the coyote to escape unharmed. A video captured the moment the pup circled anxiously within the enclosure while the team worked to free it. Thankfully, the coyote is in good health and is now under the care of the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center.

"Thanks to some teamwork and gentle maneuvering, the little guy was safely freed," the department stated. They added a note of gratitude to the community for their vigilance in reporting wildlife in distress.

Shoutouts were also given to the crew of L206 for their swift response. This rescue highlights the ongoing efforts of local firefighters, who often engage in diverse tasks beyond traditional fire response.
