San Luis Enhances Inclusivity with New Playground Equipment
San Luis, AZ – The City of San Luis is making significant strides towards inclusivity with the addition of new playground equipment at Joe Orduño Park. Over 290 children will benefit from these enhancements, which include a wheelchair-accessible carousel and a communication board featuring both images and words.
The initiative has been made possible through generous donations totaling $59,000 from the Cocopah Tribe and Campesinos Sin Frontera. "With these two donations combined, we were able to purchase inclusive playground equipment to be added at Joe Orduño Park. Our goal is to continue enhancing inclusivity in our community," stated Angelica Roldan, Parks and Recreation Director for San Luis.
The new equipment is part of a broader push to ensure that all children, regardless of physical abilities, have access to recreational facilities. The improvements are set to be completed and open to the public by August, marking a significant step forward in making San Luis a more inclusive community for all families.
