Press Article: Delay in Lori Vallow Daybell’s Trial Due to Health Issues
MARICOPA COUNTY, Ariz. — The trial of convicted killer Lori Vallow Daybell has been postponed once again after she informed the court on Monday that she was too unwell to proceed with jury selection. Known as the "Doomsday Mom," Vallow Daybell, who is representing herself and has pleaded not guilty, is facing charges linked to a conspiracy to murder her niece’s ex-husband.
This marks her third trial within three years. Vallow Daybell was first convicted in Idaho in 2023 for the murders of her children, Tylee and JJ, as well as her involvement in the death of her husband’s previous wife. In April, she received a conviction in Arizona for conspiring to kill her former husband.
On Monday, a troubling scene unfolded as Vallow Daybell was brought into the courtroom in a wheelchair, appearing unwell with her head resting in her hand. Jury selection, previously delayed twice, has now been moved to Wednesday, despite efforts from Judge Justin Beresky to keep proceedings on track. The prosecution has expressed concerns over the ongoing delays.
Ultimately, Vallow Daybell was allowed to return to jail to rest.
