Arizona Wildcats Dominate Utah Valley with Record-Breaking Performance
EUGENE, Ore. – The Arizona Wildcats delivered an electrifying performance on Saturday night, overwhelming the Utah Valley Wolverines 14-4 in the NCAA Regional. This victory not only advanced Arizona (41-18) to the regional final but also etched their name in the record books with eight home runs and 14 extra-base hits, both single-game program milestones.
Mason White led the charge, hitting three homers, marking only the ninth three-homer game in Arizona’s history and the first in postseason play. Complementing him were teammates Brendan Summerhill, Aaron Walton, Adonys Guzman, Garen Caulfield, and Tommy Splaine, who each contributed to the historic offensive barrage.
Arizona’s pitching was equally impressive, as Casey Hintz and Michael Hilker Jr. dominated the mound. Hintz secured the win, striking out two in three perfect innings, while Hilker notched his first career save with seven strikeouts.
The Wildcats will next face either Cal Poly or Utah Valley in the Eugene Regional final on Sunday at 7:00 PM MST, aiming to continue their impressive postseason run. Fans are eagerly waiting to see if Arizona can further capitalize on their remarkable momentum.
