Press Article: Tragedy Strikes Arcadia High School with Double Homicide Investigation
PHOENIX, AZ — The Arcadia High School community is in mourning following the tragic discovery of two students’ bodies, ruled as homicides by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. The victims, 17-year-old Evan Clark and 18-year-old Pandora Kjolsrud, were found off State Route 87 on May 27.
Colleagues and friends expressed disbelief and heartbreak over the loss. “It feels surreal,” stated Iara, a co-worker of Clark, who described him as cheerful and always joking. Friends reminisced about Clark’s vibrant spirit and Kjolsrud’s kindness, highlighting their shared memories of laughter and joy.
Authorities have not yet disclosed details regarding the circumstances surrounding the deaths, prompting the community to come together in support. A memorial has formed at a favorite spot of the students, where classmates left flowers and heartfelt messages.
In response to the crisis, the Scottsdale Unified School District will provide counseling and psychological support on June 2 from 8 a.m. to noon for affected students. As they grieve, friends and family are holding onto cherished memories while awaiting further information.
