Pirates Dominate Diamondbacks in Series Finale

PHOENIX — The Pittsburgh Pirates showcased a commanding performance, defeating the Arizona Diamondbacks 10-1 on Wednesday, with pitcher Paul Skenes delivering a stellar outing. Skenes, the reigning NL Rookie of the Year, allowed only four hits and struck out seven, marking his 35th career start without permitting more than six hits.

In the previous night’s game, the Pirates staged a dramatic comeback from a 6-2 deficit, scoring seven runs in the eighth inning to secure a 9-6 victory. Key player Bryan Reynolds made significant contributions, including a go-ahead three-run homer to seal the win.

This series win against Arizona marks the Pirates’ first road victory and only their second overall since late April. Despite a strong outing from Diamondbacks pitcher Zac Gallen, who allowed six runs, Arizona has struggled recently, losing seven of their last eight games.

In roster news, the Pirates reinstated catcher Endy Rodriguez from the injured list while placing Joey Bart on the concussion list. The Pirates now prepare for a three-game series against San Diego, seeking to build on their momentum. The Diamondbacks, meanwhile, will face Washington this weekend.
