Arizona State’s Basheer Jihad Invited for Pre-NBA Draft Workouts with Suns and Wizards

Phoenix, AZ – Arizona State men’s basketball forward Basheer Jihad has received pre-NBA Draft workout invitations from both the Phoenix Suns and the Washington Wizards, as confirmed by Synced Sports Agency. The NBA Draft is scheduled for June 25, with the Suns holding the 29th and 52nd picks.

Jihad, a 6-foot-9 forward, transferred to ASU last season after three impactful years at Ball State. In his only season with the Sun Devils, he made a significant impact, averaging 12.7 points on 40.6% shooting and 28.5% from beyond the arc. He also contributed 5.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.1 steals over 30.5 minutes per game. His performance saw him ranking third in scoring, second in rebounds, and tied for first in steals on the team.

In addition to Jihad, the Suns have also welcomed other notable prospects for pre-draft workouts. RJ Luis, a guard from St. John’s, recently shared a glimpse of the Suns practice court on social media. Luis averaged 15.3 points while earning the title of Big East Player of the Year after a standout final season with career highs in points (18.2), rebounds (7.2), assists (2.0), and steals (1.4).

Alabama guard Labaron Philon and East Carolina guard RJ Felton are also among the draft hopefuls to work out with the Suns. Philon, a freshman, averaged 10.6 points and earned SEC All-Freshman honors, while Felton capped his collegiate career with career highs in multiple categories.

The pre-draft process is crucial for aspiring NBA players as they seek to showcase their skills and secure a coveted spot on an NBA roster.
