Grant-Foster Chooses Gonzaga for Final Season
Grand Canyon University’s standout wing, Tyon Grant-Foster, has officially announced his decision to transfer to Gonzaga University for the final season of his college basketball career. The 2024 WAC Player of the Year made headlines this week as he opted for the Bulldogs over other prominent programs, including Arizona State University and the University of Washington.
In an interview with 247 Sports, Grant-Foster cited Gonzaga’s impressive basketball environment and Coach Mark Few’s reputation as pivotal in his decision. "Amazing basketball situation," he remarked. "One of the best, if not the best, college coaches in the country. I know this is a place I can go get better in a real way and continue to win at a high level, and it’s been proven through their development of NBA-level wings."
The 6-foot-7 guard has been a scoring dynamo, averaging 20.1 points per game in the 2023-24 season and 14.8 points per game in 2024-25 during his time with the Lopes. His departure marks a significant loss for Grand Canyon, as he was a key contributor. Grant-Foster is set to reunite with former ASU shooting guard Adam Miller in Gonzaga, bolstering an already talented roster.
This move marks the 25-year-old’s fifth college basketball team, following a challenging journey that saw him sidelined for a year and a half due to a medical episode in 2020. After being hailed as one of the best junior college players at Indian Hills Community College, he embarked on a path that included stints at Kansas, DePaul, and finally Grand Canyon.
As he prepares for his upcoming season in Spokane, excitement builds around Grant-Foster’s potential impact on what is expected to be another successful year for Gonzaga basketball.
