PHOENIX — Fresh opportunities await job seekers in Scottsdale and Tempe, which have secured spots among the top 20 best cities to kick-start a career in 2025, according to WalletHub’s latest rankings. Released on Monday, the study assessed 182 U.S. cities based on 25 criteria related to professional opportunities and quality of life.
Scottsdale emerged as the top-ranked city in Arizona at No. 16, with an overall score of 55.98, ranking 27th for professional opportunities and 16th for quality of life. Meanwhile, Tempe followed closely at No. 18, scoring 55.42, and ranking 56th in professional opportunities but an impressive 7th for quality of life.
Other Arizona cities made the top 100 list, including Chandler at No. 31, Phoenix at No. 44, and Gilbert at No. 56. However, they ranked higher for job opportunities than their neighbors, Tempe and Scottsdale, which excelled in lifestyle appeal.
Scottsdale’s reputation continues to shine, as it was previously named the eighth happiest city in the U.S. and the most pet-friendly city in America. Conversely, Pearl City, Hawaii, was designated the worst location to begin a career.
