Troy University Student Secures Prestigious Fellowship in Investigative Journalism

Emily Mosier, a senior at Troy University’s Hall School of Journalism and Communication, has been awarded a coveted fellowship with the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism at Arizona State University’s Cronkite School. The fellowship, which covers tuition and significant funding for three semesters, positions Mosier to pursue a master’s in investigative journalism.

Originally from New Hope, Florida, Mosier is double majoring in English and multimedia journalism. She aims to work as a reporter for a national media organization, with a focus on investigative and data journalism. “This fellowship will bring me closer to my dreams,” she stated, expressing excitement about the opportunities it presents for networking and publishing.

A first-generation college student, Mosier credits her transformative experience at Troy to supportive faculty and mentors. She became actively involved in campus journalism as Editor-in-Chief of The Tropolitan and as a producer for Troy Public Radio.

Recognized for her achievements, Mosier has received several awards for her work in journalism, including multiple honors from the Southeastern Journalism Conference and the Society of Professional Journalists. Her extensive contributions to various media outlets mark her as a rising star in the field.
