Carmel Gateway Ready for Outdoor Transformation
INDIANAPOLIS — This spring, Carmel Gateway, the largest suburban office park in Central Indiana, is set to undergo a significant transformation aimed at enhancing its outdoor spaces. Spearheaded by Komplete Landscape Contractors and designer Jason Fiddler, the initiative is focused on creating an inviting, nature-rich environment for employees and visitors alike.
Fiddler, who transitioned from a background in the music industry to landscaping, employs innovative 3D modeling technology to envision and design green spaces that resonate with the needs of the community. “This project was about solving a problem,” he explained. “The space wasn’t appealing, and the client needed an inviting solution to screen the highway.”
The use of digital tools allows stakeholders to visualize the end product before construction begins. "We used 3D modeling to show clients what the space would look like, enabling them to walk through it virtually and share their vision with investors," Fiddler noted.
Among the exciting features of the redesign is a terrarium-style installation that will act as a natural barrier between the office park and a nearby highway. Plans also include enhancements to the East and West Lawns, which will feature native plants, pathways, and shaded gathering spots aimed at encouraging staff to engage with the outdoors.
“Big additions are on the horizon, including an outdoor amphitheater and a transformed green space for games, food trucks, and events,” stated Property Manager Patrick Moyers. These landscaping upgrades are part of a broader initiative to reimagine office campuses for a post-pandemic workforce, fostering a work environment that appeals to remote workers and emphasizes experience over traditional office settings.
