Arizona State Women’s Golf Team Advances to NCAA Championships
GOLD CANYON, Ariz. — The Arizona State Sun Devils women’s golf team has clinched a spot in the NCAA Championships following a strong showing at the Gold Canyon Regional, finishing second with a score of -3 (861). This marks the Sun Devils’ 39th appearance at the NCAA Championships, the most for any program in history, solidifying their status as a collegiate golf powerhouse.
Under the leadership of Head Coach Missy Farr-Kaye, the team has advanced to the championships in seven of the last eight years, and they previously captured their eighth national title in 2017. Key performances from redshirt sophomore Patience Rhodes, who finished second overall at -9, and freshman Isla McDonald-O’Brien, tying for third at -3, significantly contributed to their successful regional outing. Coach Farr-Kaye expressed pride in the team’s unity and determination amidst the challenging competition.
The Sun Devils will compete for the national title from May 16-21 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. This year’s championship is an opportunity for ASU to pursue its ninth national title. The NCAA Championship will be broadcasted live on GOLF Channel and Peacock.
