Shortstop Geraldo Perdomo shone bright for Arizona, marking his first career four-hit game with two doubles and a crucial walk in the 10th that sealed the win. The D-backs’ offense, already lively with eight runs from 10 hits, exploded in the extra frame as the Phillies’ defense faltered. Closer Jose Alvarado struggled, throwing 30 pitches that resulted in three runs for Arizona, including an error from Kyle Schwarber that allowed Eugenio Suarez to score.
First baseman Josh Naylor ignited the 10th with a single before Tim Tawa’s sacrifice fly brought him home, further shaking Alvarado’s confidence. The D-backs continued to capitalize when pinch-hitters Alek Thomas and Gabriel Moreno reached base, leading to Perdomo’s game-winning walk.
