Arizona Track & Field Shines in Senior Night at Desert Heat Classic

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona Wildcats Track & Field team wrapped up its outdoor regular season with an impressive performance at the Desert Heat Classic, held at Drachman Stadium on Saturday. The event featured a heartfelt senior presentation ceremony, honoring 15 athletes and two managers for their dedication to the program.

On a night full of achievement, the Wildcats triumphed in six events and garnered 16 top-three finishes, featuring numerous personal and seasonal bests. Highlights included Zach Extine’s record-setting performance in the Men’s 110m hurdles with a time of 13.17—a mark that ranks second nationally this season.

Zach Landa claimed wins in the Men’s Shot Put (65-11.5) and placed third in the Discus (194-11). Reinaldo Rodrigues soared to a personal best in the Men’s Long Jump, landing at 26-5, now third all-time in school history. The Women’s 4x100m team shattered the school record with a time of 44.17.

With the outdoor season now concluded, the Wildcats will next compete in the inaugural Big 12 Outdoor Championships in Lawrence, Kan., from May 15-17. Fans can follow their journey online.
