Gators Set for Big 12 Championship Showdown Against Arizona State
Boulder, Colo. – The top-seeded Florida lacrosse team (16-2, 5-0 Big 12) gears up for a rematch against Arizona State (11-7, 3-2 Big 12) in the Big 12 Conference Tournament Championship on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET, hosted at Prentup Field. This marks the second encounter between the two teams in just a week, with Florida having claimed a decisive 17-5 victory last Saturday.
In their semifinal bout, the Gators displayed dominant form, thrashing UC Davis 22-2, propelled by Gianna Monaco’s career-best performance of six goals and two assists. Florida’s defense has been exceptional, limiting opponents to just 13 goals across their last four matches and maintaining an impressive 8.89 goals-against average this season, ranking eighth nationally.
