The Tempe native is making headlines not only for his athletic talents but also as the older brother of five-star basketball recruit Koa Peat, who committed to the Arizona men’s basketball program on March 27.
After entering the transfer portal, Keona drew interest from several schools, including Sam Houston State, Temple, and Akron. Notably, he was originally a zero-star recruit from Tempe Corona del Sol High School in the class of 2023. His addition to the Wildcats is a critical move as the team seeks to bolster its offensive line following the loss of notable players like starting left guard Wendell Moe.
In his brief college career at Arizona State, Peat’s contributions were limited, having played only one snap as a true freshman and 14 snaps during his redshirt freshman year, primarily at center. Interestingly, during this time, he made a rare appearance at running back when the ASU men’s basketball team hosted his brother, Koa, on an official visit—a moment that turned into a cherished family memory, even if it resulted in no yardage.
