Houston Cougars Softball Team Concludes Regular Season Against #12 Arizona
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Softball team is set to wrap up its regular season with a three-game series against #12/#13 Arizona at Cougar Softball Stadium, kicking off on Friday at 6 p.m. The series continues Saturday at 2 p.m. and concludes Sunday at noon, featuring a pregame senior ceremony for Ranci Willis.
The Cougars face the Wildcats for the first time at Houston, carrying a 0-4 all-time record against Arizona, with their last encounter back in April 2016. Head Coach Kristin Vesely, in her ninth season, looks to uplift a young team where freshmen and underclassmen account for nearly 90% of the starting line-up.
Notable player accolades include freshman Wells, ranked as the #11 first baseman nationally, and sophomore Jordee Wilkins, who’s making history with her impressive doubles and triples stats. The Cougars stand out nationally for their ability to draw walks, ranking third with a total of 232 walks this season.
