North Dakota Assistive Hosts Statewide Events for Assistive Technology Awareness Day

North Dakota Assistive celebrated Assistive Technology Awareness Day with events held at its locations statewide, showcasing a wide array of assistive technologies aimed at enhancing independence for individuals with varying needs.
The Fargo branch, located at 3240 15th Street South, Suite B, hosted a demonstration from 4 to 6 PM, where attendees explored valuable assistive devices. These included specialized phones, adapted remotes, mobility-friendly shower fixtures, and innovative home security upgrades.
Randon Lovering, an Assistive Technology Assistant, emphasized the organization’s mission: “Our goal is to ensure that everyone has access to assistive technology to lead more independent lives in areas like work, leisure, and education.” Staff members expressed that the most gratifying aspect of their work is introducing individuals to technologies that can significantly improve their quality of life.
“The gratitude we receive is overwhelming,” Lovering noted. “Seeing the look of joy on people’s faces when they realize they can do something they haven’t been able to do for a long time is truly amazing.”
