Northern Arizona University Celebrates Academic Excellence with 59 Student-Athletes Honored
FARMINGTON, Utah (April 30, 2025) – Northern Arizona University (NAU) proudly announced that a total of 59 of its student-athletes have been named to the Big Sky Conference Winter All-Academic Team. This recognition comes as a testament to their academic achievements alongside athletic participation, reflecting the university’s commitment to excellence both on and off the field.
To qualify for this distinction, student-athletes must have participated in at least half of their team’s competitions, maintained a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA, and completed at least one academic term at their institution. Among those honored, 11 students achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA, and 40 maintained GPAs over 3.5.
The Lumberjacks excelled in various sports, with 21 honorees in men’s track and field, 24 in women’s track and field, eight in women’s basketball, and six in men’s basketball. This season, the indoor track and field teams captured their fifth consecutive Big Sky Conference title, while women’s basketball achieved a record 27 wins. Men’s basketball made its first postseason appearance since 2015, showcasing the school’s athletic prowess balanced by academic success.
