Arizona Department of Education Launches DEI Compliance Tracking Webpage
PHOENIX (KVOA) – The Arizona Department of Education (AZED) has introduced a new webpage aimed at monitoring school districts and charter operators’ adherence to federal Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) guidelines. This initiative comes amidst ongoing legal challenges surrounding DEI policies. The U.S. Department of Education has announced that it will refrain from further actions concerning the DEI Title VI Certification for the time being.
State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tom Horne, underscored his commitment to transparency and compliance with legal frameworks. “I am committed to following the law and will abide by the latest guidance from the U.S. Department of Education to take no action against schools until further notice,” Horne stated.
He also conveyed his belief in the alignment of DEI guidelines with his stance against racial discrimination, expressing confidence that these guidelines will be upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court. Horne emphasized the importance of treating DEI issues with seriousness by districts and charter schools.
The new webpage is part of AZED’s efforts to ensure accountability and provide clarity for educators and stakeholders. For further details, the webpage can be accessed through the Arizona Department of Education’s official site.
