Rattlers Dominant Against Wranglers, Move to 4-0
The Arizona Rattlers (4-0) showcased an impressive performance against the struggling Northern Arizona Wranglers (0-4), winning decisively 49-20. Despite an undefeated record, head coach Kevin Guy had expressed concerns over penalties and special teams play. The game began with Rattlers’ Omari Alexander intercepting a pass from Wranglers’ quarterback C.J. Fowler, setting up running back Shannon Brooks for a 1-yard touchdown, marking his return from injury.
The Wranglers quickly countered with a kickoff return for a touchdown by David Elder, tying the game at 7. From there, both teams exchanged touchdowns, but the Rattlers ultimately led 35-20 at halftime following a successful one-minute drill capped by a Dalton Sneed touchdown.
The Rattlers surged ahead in the second half, with Sneed contributing again, and a late touchdown from backup Drew Powell to Brooks sealed the victory. The Rattlers’ defense shone brightly, shutting out the Wranglers in the second half. Quarterback Sneed praised the defense’s performance, noting its rarity. The Rattlers look to maintain their undefeated streak next week against the Tucson Sugar Skulls.
