Former Trump campaign legal adviser Jenna Ellis has reached an agreement with Arizona prosecutors to avoid potential jail time by providing full cooperation in a case involving alleged attempts to overturn President Joe Biden’s victory in the state. Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes will drop nine felony charges against Ellis in exchange for her assistance in implicating her co-defendants, including Rudy Giuliani and Mark Meadows.
It is unclear what information Ellis will provide, but Mayes called the agreement a significant step forward in the case. Ellis had previously pleaded guilty to a felony charge in a similar election subversion case in Georgia.
Mayes expressed gratitude for Ellis’s cooperation, stating that her insights will greatly aid the state in proving its case and upholding American democracy. The case against Ellis and her co-defendants is ongoing, with prosecutors expecting Ellis’s cooperation to be a key factor in their prosecution.
