Tucson Man Sentenced to 60 Months in Prison for Illegal Firearm Possession
Arturo Contreras Soto, a 37-year-old Tucson man, has been sentenced to five years in prison for illegal firearm possession, following a bench trial on January 28. Soto was arrested by Tucson Police Department officers on April 3, 2024, when they found him with a loaded 9mm handgun, 500 fentanyl pills, and $250 in his pockets.
Authorities discovered Soto had multiple prior felony convictions, leading to his 60-month sentence. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Tucson Police Department worked together under the National Public Safety Partnership to investigate the case.
