Dates Set for Two High-Profile Matchups

Arizona men’s basketball coach Tommy Lloyd continues to schedule tough nonconference matchups for the Wildcats, with two games reported for next season. The Wildcats will face UCLA on Nov. 14 at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood and Alabama on Dec. 13 in Birmingham. The UCLA matchup is part of an agreement to keep the Pac-12 rivalry alive, while the Alabama series began with a victory for Arizona in the 2023-24 season.

The trend of “home-and-home but neutral” scheduling has become more popular in college basketball, increasing the chances of a Quad 1 win for both teams. This style of scheduling also gives one school more of a home-court advantage while still playing on a neutral court. The Wildcats also have a matchup against Auburn on Dec. 6, followed by a return game at Auburn and a potential series with UConn in the works.

Arizona is not expected to participate in a multi-team event next season after a 1-2 record in the Battle 4 Atlantis last year. The Wildcats will look to continue their success in nonconference play next season against tough opponents like UCLA, Alabama, Auburn, and potentially UConn. The scheduling decisions reflect Lloyd’s commitment to challenging the team with competitive matchups as they prepare for the 2025-26 season.
