Arizona wins in extra innings, defeating opponent 4-2


The Arizona Wildcats dropped their series opener to the Oklahoma State Cowboys with a final score of 4-2 in extra innings. Starting pitcher Collin McKinney had an impressive performance, allowing just two unearned runs on seven hits across 5.2 innings, striking out eight batters. Center fielder Aaron Walton hit a solo home run in the ninth inning to tie the game 2-2, collecting all three of Arizona’s hits that night. Reliever Casey Hintz took the loss after allowing two runs in the 10th inning. Right-hander Garrett Hicks also pitched well in the extra innings. The Wildcats will look to even the series against the Cowboys in their next game on Saturday night at Hi Corbett Field.
