John Kelly believes that Donald Trump fits the description of a ‘fascist’

John Kelly, former White House chief of staff during the Trump administration, stated in recent interviews that former President Donald Trump meets the definition of a fascist. Kelly mentioned in an interview with The New York Times that Trump falls into the general definition of fascist due to his far-right authoritarian views and admiration for dictators. Kelly also claimed that Trump had spoken positively about Adolf Hitler, saying that Hitler had done some good things. However, a Trump campaign spokesperson denied these claims and stated that Kelly was recounting debunked stories.

Kelly also mentioned that when Trump complained about U.S. generals, he would remind him that their loyalty was to the Constitution and the rule of law. Recently, Democrats have compared some of Trump’s rhetoric to that of Hitler’s, especially following a remark Trump made at a rally in New Hampshire where he talked about immigrants “poisoning the blood of our country.” This sparked backlash as Hitler had used similar language in his manifesto, “Mein Kampf,” to denigrate immigration and race mixing.

During a campaign rally in Wisconsin, Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz referred to a report in The Atlantic claiming that Trump admired Hitler’s generals. Despite denials from Trump’s spokesperson, these allegations have resurfaced conversations about Trump’s authoritarian tendencies and rhetoric.
