It will take weeks if not months for the area to return to its former prominence. The devastation caused by the hurricane has left the village in disarray, with debris cluttering nearby rivers and streets. The floodwaters reached several feet high, causing significant damage to buildings and businesses, and leaving residents exhausted from the cleanup efforts. Despite the chaos and devastation, community members are coming together to support each other and rebuild. Asheville resident Renee White, 59, expressed the emotional toll of seeing the damage to the city, but also noted the unity and resilience of the community. Another resident, Kareem McDowell, 50, emphasized the importance of working together and supporting one another in the aftermath of the tragedy. While the scars from Hurricane Helene remain visible in Biltmore Village and throughout Asheville, residents are coming together to lift up their community and help it recover from the destruction.
